About Me

I was born in 1986 in Van, Turkey. I am a musician deeply rooted in Anatolian music, dedicated to exploring the traces of this land’s ancient sound and carrying forward a tradition that has lived for thousands of years.
As a multi-instrumentalist, I perform and compose on the divan sazı, bağlama, oud, and cümbüş, exploring their emotional depth and richness.
I am a self-taught musician, and along my musical journey, I have learned from the musicians I met, developing my understanding through listening, observing, and exchanging ideas in master-apprentice relationships.
I place great value on improvisation, makam, and rhythmic diversity, which I consider essential for conveying emotion and keeping music alive — a continuous dialogue between past and present.
I have collaborated with musicians from many cultures and traditions (including Portugal, Italy, Spain, France, the United States, the Czech Republic, Russia, Iran, Greece, and regions of Africa). These experiences continue to inspire me and deepen my connection to music’s universal language.
Over the years, I have performed in numerous concerts and artistic projects both in Turkey and abroad, appearing as a solo artist as well as in collaboration with diverse ensembles.
Each performance continues this journey, keeping the voice of tradition alive through my own sound.
